Peter Nelson, BIM Manager, Principal

With nearly 30 years of experience in the AEC industry, Peter is IES's subject matter expert for all things BIM and CAD utilizing AutoCAD (since 1994), Revit (since 2010), data acquisition methods and laser scanning tools, clash detection, industry CAD and modeling standards, and design coordination.  Peter is responsible for coordinating procedures and standards for software used in the design process—whether CAD, BIM, or design/analysis programs—and directs IES's production efforts to document structural engineering design concepts and analysis for drawing and design submittals.

The projects Peter has worked on during his AEC career involved teams of all sizes from just a few people to projects with hundreds of team members located around the world utilizing his specialization in BIM and CAD, architectural/engineering knowledge, and design coordination leadership.  The scope of these projects has ranged from small timber-frame pergolas to tenant finish outs to elaborate hotels to large data centers and fabrication facilities.

Peter is an Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit and holds LEEP AP credentials.
